Buttered Coffee!

What’s all the excitement about this Bulletproof coffee?  Basically, it’s given coffee drinkers a new reason to wake up in the morning.  The main benefits are that it gives you energy without feeling jittery and that it kick starts your body into fat burning mode.  It has a smooth, creamy, slightly sweet taste and is easy to make.  All you do is blend 12 oz of coffee with 2 TBSP grass fed butter(unsalted), and 1 TBSP Coconut oil or MCT oil.  I blend it in a Magic Bullet for 30 second...

Superfood

The Superfood I’m referring to is bone broth.  I’m not talking about the stuff you buy in stores either.  Not all bone broths are created equal.  The broth in stores isn’t even made from bones from what I’ve read.  That includes the organic kinds.  Bone broth is loaded with vitamins and amino acids that boost your immune system, improve nails and skin, heal wounds and gut, and treat pain and inflammation such as arthritis.  All you need to make it is water, apple cider vi...

Do This Now!

I have a couple of things I need you guys to do right now.  First, go in the kitchen and mix a banana and 2 eggs in the food processor.  Next, pour the mixture on a preheated skillet.  The finished product is the best Paleo pancakes I’ve had so far and with only 2 ingredients.  Here is the link so I can give credit where credit is due.   http://thedomesticman.com/2013/01/29/two-ingredient-pancakes/ The next thing I need you to do is go “like” this FB page, http://www.facebook.c...

Energy Bars

There have been requests for energy bar recipes.  These should do the trick.  Remember they are loaded with sugar even though it’s natural so moderation is the key.  I can’t make them anymore because I can eat the whole pan on my own.  Leave out the Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips, especially if you are doing the challenge.  Change up the ingredients if you don’t like or don’t have something.  The first link is to the one I have made a few times.  I also gave you links to two...

Feeling sluggish?

Congratulations on nearing the end of the first week of The Best Shape of Your Life Challenge!  It is so exciting to see the changes everyone has been making.  I can’t wait to see what is to come. Some of you are experiencing some very common problems such as feeling sluggish and tired.  You gave up cereal, bread, sodas, twinkies, crackers, and other such garbage and replaced it with nutrient dense whole foods such as meat and vegetables.  So if Paleo is so great, why aren’t you feel...

What Would Brenda Eat?

Some people have asked what I eat during the day.  WWBE Bracelets will be avaliable for purchase and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Healthy School Lunch Program.  Not really. Most mornings I eat eggs.  I know, boring.  You can actually do lots of things with scrambled eggs.  Add basil, raisins, salsa, or chopped veggies.  Occasionally I make Paleo pancakes topped with fruit for a treat.  I have not found a pancake recipe with almond flour that I like.  I will share the one I use later.  Swe...

Paleo Shopping and Eating Out

Where to Shop Many of you have probably found it difficult to find things on your Paleo grocery list all in one place.  If you did find what you wanted it was expensive.  I will give you a list of places I have found that have some of the best deals. Aldi- produce, almond milk, eggs, meat- You will not find organic, free range, or grass fed here, but it will be affordable. Marsh- Good deals on meat.  Produce is not so good at the store on Teal Rd. Kroger- Good selection of meat and produce.  Als...

Paleo Quick Start

Ok Paleo peeps, you asked for recipes and tips to save time and money while eating Paleo.  I’ll be posting everything I can to help make your transition from the SAD (Standard American Diet) to Paleo a success.  Please know that I am not a culinary master nor am I an expert on the Paleo diet.  A year ago I believed that all “food” came from a factory.  Everything I ate came from a box or a bag.  My diet was mainly macaroni and cheese, sandwiches, cold cereal, ramen noodles, fro...
