I was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 by Pete and quickly realized that CrossFit was something I wanted to pursue. The movements were challenging, the workouts were tough and honestly it was just fun! I grew up playing basketball and spending a lot of time in the gym practicing my sport because I had a drive to be better, but after college and leaving sport, I found myself going to the gym and doing the same things over and over again. Something was missing. It wasn’t just the movements, but it was the group of people you did them with that made me keep showing back up.
Over the years, I have developed a reverence for human movement. The human being is an amazing creation and it is designed to move. We were not created to be sedentary, we were born to move our bodies through full ranges of motion. Watch a baby as it learns how to stand and sit – he or she is programmed for movement. Somewhere between birth and adulthood, we loose some of these ranges but that shouldn’t be the case.
At CrossFit Uncommon, we are on a journey. A journey to gain back what was lost and maybe then some. This doesn’t just apply physically, but also emotionally and mentally. Join us on the journey to be the best version of yourself!
